Visiting heavy snow Niigata Uonuma region, spending time with producers of the traditional Japanese Sake, woven fabrics and rice.
Day 1: Visit brewery of the famous Japanese Sake “Kakurei”, which has 300-year history.
It doesn’t usually accept visitors to see the producing process but permitted for this tour exclusively.
Furthermore, enjoy dinner with the “Toji” who is entitled to produce “Kakurei”, with his recommended Sake and delicious and healthy meal of this region. Producer of famous Japanese rice brand “Minami-Uonuma Koshihikari” will also join the dinner. Guide will translate your communication with them so you can ask questions as you like.
Spend a night at a traditional Japanese Onsen Ryokan.
Day 2: Visit woven fabric manufacturer of the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage “Echigo jofu”. You can purchase gifts such as card holders and bags made from Kimono. If you are lucky and it is not snowing, you can see “Yuki Zarashi” which is natural bleaching of the woven fabric using the snow. This method have been continued for 800 years in this region, and permitted to see this process exclusively for this tour.
Also, will visit pickles manufacturer which was established more than 100 years ago. You can see the manufacturing process of Japanese pickles.
This tour is a mix tour with Japanese tourists. Enjoy communication with them too!

Visit woven fabric manufacturer “Yamada ori” in Shiozawa town, to meet the president Ms.Yamada.
Observe seasonal charming sights “Yuki Zarashi (snow bleaching)”
See “Yuki Zarashi” which is natural bleaching method using snow of a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage “Echigojofu” (woven fabric).
Permitted to observe for this tour exclusively.
In case it snows, “Yuki Zarashi” is not possible, so listen to lecture of traditional skill holder instead.

Visit pickles manufacturer established more than 100 years ago, and observe inside the “Kura” (traditional Japanese style storage).
Listen to various stories about the history and culture of the snowy region.

Take hot spring bath and break time till dinner.

Enjoy tasting sake of “KAKUREI”, which Toji is bringing, and prime rice “Koshihikari”.
Plenty of local country foods are to be prepared .
